Preparation: Use an instant read thermometer to determine liquid temperatures. For bread machine use, follow bread machine directions to add yeast. To Activate Yeast: Traditional Method: 1. In small bowl, dissolve 2-1/4 teaspoons yeast in 1/4 cup warm liquid (110-115 degrees F). 2. Add 1/2 teaspoon sugar; wait 5-10 minutes for yeast to foam (proof) before mixing with other ingredients. Dry Mix Method: 1. Blend yeast into dry ingredients. 2. Add very warm liquids (120-130 degrees F).
